Welcome Week 2026: Your Complete Guide to Campus Life
From the involvement fair to the first night on the National Mall, here is your complete guide to making the most of Welcome Week at GW.

The GW Student Association represents every student at the George Washington University — advocating for your needs, building community, and shaping the GW experience in the heart of the nation's capital.
The GW Student Association is the undergraduate student government of the George Washington University. We are elected by students, accountable to students, and dedicated to making GW the best it can be — academically, socially, and culturally.
From advocating for policy changes with university leadership to funding student organizations and hosting campus-wide events, we exist to ensure that every student has a voice in shaping their GW experience. We believe that a university in the heart of Washington, DC should empower students to be engaged citizens, leaders, and changemakers.
We represent student interests in university governance, from academic policy to campus infrastructure.
We build connections across schools, organizations, and identities to create a campus that feels like home.
We fund, support, and amplify student initiatives so your ideas can become real impact.
Our initiatives span advocacy, community engagement, student life, and professional development — all designed to enrich your GW experience.
We represent student voices on university committees, pushing for policy changes on mental health, affordability, dining, and campus safety.
Service trips, volunteer programs, and partnerships with DC organizations connect students to the city beyond campus.
We allocate funding to student organizations, events, and initiatives — over $500,000 annually to support student life.
Mentorship programs, leadership workshops, and election opportunities prepare students for lives of civic engagement.
Peer support networks, expanded counseling access, and awareness campaigns to support student wellbeing.
